I have read that construction and installation of laminate flooring can stimulate allergic reactions among pets and humans? How great a danger is this?

Only way to find out is to try it!

Depends on the kind of laminate.

We have a floating floor, and the dogs weren’t bothered by the install. We just made sure they were out of the way during the construction.

Now if it’s the glue fumes you are worried about by getting the kind that glues down I would worry not only for the dogs but the humans too. Fumes are always bad.

I have not heard of this. A lot of people use laminate flooring these days.

The dogs were kept out of the room while the laminate flooring was being put down none of the dogs or humans {resident or visitors} suffered an allergic reaction.

A potential hazard to a dog’s safety is that some laminates are smooth, so have very little grip & the dog may slide/fall. My previous male Dobe walked very gingerly on laminate, so I scattered rugs, which meant the room became more rug than laminate….in the end I carpeted again….one very happy Dobermann.

I have laminate floors throughout my house now, rugs were getting stinky from my 2 beagles. I have an area rug in the living room and 2 scattermats in the bedroom. They seem to do ok where the floor is bare and also we do have their claws done when need so thats helps.
